Would having all 1000+ Pokémon be available in the game save it from being the mediocre to average game it already destination to be?Keeping the Dex didn’t save any of the games before is swsh from being the same amount of quality.

It's a problem when the resources are repeatedly claimed to be future proof and portable into future games with no hassle, and then next minute claimed to be impossible to do so and had to be redone from scratch. It'd be a different story if we had reached a technological point where the old models actually have to be tossed out and redone, it's more an issue with blatant dishonesty and disrespect to the fanbase. Well that and the entire point of Pokemon is to have an adventure with your best bud, cant do that if they risk getting cut game to game.

I can't imagine any mon actually running Hidden Power Rock, and on top of that, balking special moves is Frosmoth's speciality. Its main issues are that it's slow, it gets shredded by sneaky pebbles, has no reliable form of recovery and it dies instantly to physical moves. Hidden Power wouldn't make things that much worse.

More options doesn't equate to better design. Would the game be better if every Pokemon had access to every move?

It's literally the most common one to run behind HP Fire and HP Ice.

None of which are fixed by giving every other special attacker free extra coverage to hit it harder with. Reintroducing a badly designed move won't fix your shitmon.

My problem with the Dexcut is that Game Freak said was to improve to the quality of the games. I wouldn’t have a problem with it if this were true. But Swsh are even worse in some aspects compared to the 3DS games. So we lost hundreds of Pokemon for nothing. It’s that simple. Not to mention having an insane variety of creatures to train, battle, and play with was the one thing that Pokemon had over RPGs but that’s completely thrown out the window now.

Neither does less options, so I'd rather have more than less in this context. It's more fun to have more options to choose from when building your teams.

I don't think it's far for you to exaggerate this to its utmost extreme (although this does exist and it's called Balanced Hackmons, it's a fun meta to play now and then). There obviously has to be limits, but the point of Hidden Power is that it's a weaker move which can be used to cover glaring weaknesses with a pokemon's movepool, like in Frosmoth's case.

I never claimed that in the first place, so I'm not going to defend it. My point was that Frosmoth would at least have some decent offensive coverage if it had access to Hidden Power, because one commonly used type in the meta resists literally all of its offensive moves.

Pokemon aren't playable characters, they're more like equipment. Your playable character is the boy or girl. Your Pokemon do absolutely nothing outside of battle and have no influence on anything. Swapping out Pokemon is like changing what sword you're using in other RPGs.

If you're talking about Pokedex number, there are 890 pokemon. If you count all the other forms of Pokemon separatly, you get quite a bit higher.
