There is a very jarring abundance of low-resolution textures and cheaply crafted stock animations in these games. The visuals make it look like a 3DS game shoddily ported to the Switch. In spite of the low quality assets, however, they still suffer from some performance issues. Just look at Luigi's Mansion 3 in comparison, a game that oozes love and effort in every little frame of animation, has gorgeous environments and a nigh unshakable framerate. LM3 actually makes SS outright embarrassing to look at, like you're looking at someone's first attempt to make a game mod with Pokemon in it.
