Because anti-smogon shitters always complain about how smogons rules are retarded. Calling out their elo is like saying "prove you have played with smogon's rules enough to make a fair judgement, and if you have, prove you're good so we have reason to believe you know what you're talking about."

This is not a sensible response when talking about the broader scope of competitive play. The times I’ve played under smogon rules I’ve disagreed with them and opt not to play Showdown because I don’t want to play a format I don’t enjoy on a simulator that primarily supports it. I play and understand competitive, but smogon is not the only way to play competitive and this includes 6v6 singles.

Smogon is not the definitive way to play 6v6 competitively. It’s not a binary choice between smogon and vgc.
