Nowhere in the Pokedex does it say that Magcargo is "as hot as the sun", just that it's 18000 degrees F. The thing is, we don't know how that translates from the Pokemon world to our world, because Pokemon world science lets people transform living creatures into data, lets people splice genes and combine with Pokemon and split right back at the push of a button, or even have literal children go diving without gear, or get shot into space on the back of a dragon.
So no, we don't know if Magcargo's as hot as the sun, but even if it is, it wouldn't be anything weird
