Even if its not quite that far though, 3 years between FRLG and HGSS, 3-5 years between those and Unova, 2 years until Unova's next game and XY (canonically simultaneous, or similar timelines, according to a deleted tweet from the senior scenario writer)
Thats already 8 years, and SM take place a bit later and SnS even LATER than that
