Anyone know where the highest quality raw of it is? I want to have a non hard-subbed version that I can add subs to and then burn to a DVD, so it's like an official version. The PM version is hard-subbed, I believe.

Reminder taht Japan not only got smacked once, but twice by the Porygon seizure.

The news channels that reported the incidence, showed teh exact same scene on the news, putting even more of them in shock.

Maybe pory getting canned was a good thing. Think about an alternate timeline where porygon becomes super popular, and leads to more cyberspace episodes. Pokemon avoided becoming horribly dated by banning porygon.

Pokemon wasn't the only thing with absurd fullscreen flashing. I can't think of as many as bad off hand (maybe bits of GaoGaiGar, and when you win a round in KOF -- IIRC, KOF98 onwards lets you turn the effect off in the operator menu).

Not only that, it wasn't even the first one to cause a seizure scandal. It's just that nobody gave a shit until Pokémon, because it was the hot new franchise and the media used the opportunity to make a fuss of it, and the Nip government and TV Tokyo went along with it.
