Dreepy. Literally just hatched a shiny as I was typing this, but I'm hunting for two more for my shiny living dex since they're 1-2% encounters in the wild.

Today I hatched Wooloo, Stonjourner, and Dreepy, each in less than 30 eggs. Definitely my most productive day of shiny hunting this gen (it doesn't beat my record of five in one day in XY, but considering all three were from eggs and one of them was a slow hatcher, it's still pretty impressive).

The ones that barely change. Even the ugly puke green ones are better because at least you can see the difference.

Pretty much everything I wanted, for once (aside from one thing I won't be getting until my birthday in a couple months). Definitely the best Christmas I've ever had, and these three Christmas Eve shinies are just icing on the cake.

All I wanted for Christmas was a shiny Wooloo and I hatched another just over half a box of white sheep. I would have hatched more but Christmas is almost over and I hatched the current group before a new egg spawned, so I called it there.

I've wanted a shiny Shuckle since Gen 4 and I finally sat down two days ago with a foreign Ditto and started hatching. I didnt keep track of how many eggs but it took about 2 days of on-off hatching.

She hatched with hidden ability which I wanted and 4 IVs of 31, gonna get to level 100 and patch up Special Defense

5th day of the tepig hunt in B/W
using 2 games so it takes about 1min and 15secs for 2 resets, considering that i've been doing only 30 mins of resets per day i'd say I'm at about 240 pokemon seen

Help me figure something out.
Raid shiny seeds reset when you use a different wishing piece, but not when you reload a save. Similarly that probably means an egg shiny seed is determined when you place a parent, however since swap breeding is confirmed not to work, that means the complexity of the seed comes from all aspects of the parents when dropped in day care and are generated when placed, not predetermined by the # of parents that have been placed. If it’s all about the parent that’s being placed, then can we know if resetting (as in, taking the parent in and out, not replacing it with a different one) would reset the seed too? Or does the parent hold a fixed interval of regular eggs before one is shiny?

That’s not better, at all. It’s exactly the same. Ignore the % aspect, because it’s irrelevant, it does not require a % chance to activate better odds. Killed/capped = +1 — +5
Masuda method = +5, that’s it.

Out of shinies I got this gen, probably Inteleon. Pink colors bother me, they're not even hiding how much it is designed for women. On unrelated note, I thought I would hate shiny Cinderace the most when it was first revealed, but I ended up liking it way more than its regular colors.

Not sure if you meant to type that, but Crystal is the only one that has the wild Celebi event.

All you need to do is beat the E4 and champion the first time, then go to Goldenrod's Pokemon center. I believe once you check out the upper floor and come back down, an npc hands you the GS Ball and then you take that to Kurt. Wait a day, then you talk to kurt again and go to the shrine.

Good luck. I'm at 2800+ resets myself for it.

A raid with randos resulted in a shiny g-max kingler. I was not expecting that and it failed to catch.

When I checked my trainer card it said I had encountered 2 shiny pokemon already.
As it turns out, the first heatmor I ever encountered (which I caught with a quick ball for dex filling) was shiny and I never realized it until now.

I don't have the shiny charm or a jp ditto, I'm just out chaining pokemon by the tall grass. I read that beating 500 of the same pokemon brings the odds down to 1 in 680 which I thought sounded a lot better, but I guess it's not so much better now.

Sunken cost fallacy. If you quit now you're not losing anything, just saving yourself however much more time you would otherwise spend shiny hunting. For context, that 6 days was just about 20% over even odds for a shiny, as I was only making time for around 100 eggs a day. In other words, just a little unlucky. There are anons here right now who've hatched 1500+ eggs on their current hunts, which would equate to literal weeks on the schedule I've been keeping. If that sounds like too much for you, abandon this mad pursuit before you lose any more of your life to it.

I think it would be if it weren't for the seed checking bot that can tell you how many resets until that den will be shiny. Saves you from wasting your time on excessively long reset streaks

other dens, though there's a bot now that can tell you how many "seed changing actions" you need to do, that is set up in one of the trade rooms and after you trade the mon it spits out your seed on a website though with cfw you could get the seed yourself
as for seed changing actions you can do about 700/hr now using the best known method

Those who have successfully hunted a shiny fossil, does it register the shinyness on the pokedex immediately? Spamming cara liss right now with 90 fossils per reset while watching other shit on youtube so I might miss, even if I double check boxes

I heard about exploiting raids, but I think I'm too much of a brainlet and don't really like adding random people to my switch. The only time I did exploit raids to is getting gigantamax forms for full collection.

On third day of shiny hunting, got my pink Skwovet yesterday. Current hunting for shiny Rookidee and Blipbug still.
With these overworld encounter and how much I'm patience with breeding, I might actually go for complete shiny dex with Gen 8 pokemon only since there's not much to do in postgame.
Fuck fossilmons though. I will do resets just for one shiny fossilmon and move on.

So about 30 minutes ago I joined in a random g-max Grimmsnarl raid and it was shiny.
The other people I was with had a shiny Corsola, shiny Dracozolt, and shiny g-max Alcremie.

Felt like showing up at a rich party wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
I don't know how shiny hunters coordinated that so well in an open raid.

Damn thing didn't catch either.
