>>42078465It's not that Lando doesn't have checks, he has tons of them. Like I said, the real problem is U-Turn preventing the checks from actually fully checking him. Example:
I have Tyranitar on the field. My opponent sends in Landorus. My Tyrantiar is useless now.
I have Skarmory on my team as my Landorus counter. I didn't use the rocky helmet set because I need extra Leftovers recovery to survive hits from non-Landorus sources.
My opponent has no risk for using U-Turn. If I stay in, Tyranitar gets hit by a supereffective move and he can switch to whatever he wants (probably his own Skarmory). If I send in my Skarmory, Landorus does negligible damage to it that my Leftovers will heal next run, and switches to whatever Skarmory counter he's got. Now I have to predict what my opponent will do with his Skarmory counter, even though I sent it in to stop Landorus. Zero risk, high reward on Landorus' part.
I short, Skarmory has failed to check Landorus since all switching it in did was put my opponent in an advantageous position.
To make matters worse, my opponent's Skarmory counter might have Volt Switch (maybe it's Tapu Koko), which makes it even more impossible to force my opponent to take a risk instead of simply react all day.
That's why Landorus is so frustrating to play against. most people have no damn idea how to fight something like that. Like said, remove U-Turn and everyone would be perfectly fine with Landorus.
