I would if you could fight them again, but I don't like the idea of fighting every member of a trainer class in the game and then finding that I can never fight another one again.

No. Even avoiding as many as possible the games still are easy due to the fact Pokemon AI is and has always been putridly predictable, so I try to keep myself underleveled to increase the challenge of obligatory fights. Has worked fine for me for 15 years now.

In Sinnoh games you had to see every Pokemon in the regional dex to unlock the nationaldex and the best way to do that was battling every single trainer. Since then its just become a habit for me.

yeah, battling is the only fun part of pokemon to me besides exploring. I don't really like catching wild pokemon either in fact. basically when I'm out of enemy trainers I'm out of content
