Say what you will about SwSh/SS they managed to get their Bug-type right design wise. The starters and a few others like Rolycoly/Ponyta ended up being kind of disappointing for me and I was completely uninvested in their insects but their bug game is strong. I’m happy over managing to get a G-Max Orbeetle can we have a Bug thread celebrating the best type in design at least? Mothra Butterfree, UFO Alien Ladybug Monster, elegant frosty moth, fiery centipede monster. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed Bug-types this much since Gen 5 and even Gen 7 knocked one out of the park with Vikavolt design wise at least. Loving the new trend of us getting a “robotic” early route Bug-type that becomes something monstrous or cool-looking versus more butterflies. Really embodies the monster/beast-like aspect of the Pokémon world next to kaiju/dinosaurmon.
