I don't have anything to replace it. I thought by this period of time in my life I would, but I don't. I'm a 27 year old man with my own home and every waking moment I spend not at work I spend sitting around trying to force enjoyment out of the same hobbies and interests I've had my entire life just because nothing ever came to replace them.

The family never came. The new adult interests and hobbies never came. The anxiety and depression never went away. Nothing changed. I'm just an old man now with money still trying to have fun with my stupid little pokeymans because I never really learned any other ways for my brain to produce dopamine and I don't have any friends so I have to continue to fill every 24 hour day somehow totally by myself. If I had anything better to do I'd do it. Trust me I'd be happy to leave this franchise behind forever, but I don't have any other ways to pass the time.

Anyway OP, I guess I like to come back to Pokemon every now and again, but I don't keep up with it so there are pretty significant gaps in my experience.

Fuck off kid. There's no way to meet people if you've already finished college and don't really have friends. Society has no backup plan for men that have gotten this far in life and still have nobody. My job is at a metal grinding shop btw and every single person who works there is male and they already have their own groups of friends outside of work.

Didn't buy any of the recent games because this franchise has gotten so fucking bad and lazy. Just waiting for the inevitable sinnoh remakes now so I can revisit my childhood one last time. After that I won't touch this franchise ever again

I assume it's because I only buy one game per gen, which means I spend alot less money on Pokemon than other hardcore fans, thus the nags of every game that make people in this board lose their fucking shit don't bother me as much. I can safely say that I've enjoyed every single Pokemon game about the same, and some more than others, but none were a "ugh i wasted money" experience like other franchises have given me.
