The actual answer is Close Combat. Close Combat is one of the absolute dumbest, most brainless moves in Pokemon. Superpower made sense; you're doing great damage in exchange for an Attack and Defense drop, so you won't be able to spam it and instead are forced to switch out if you're a physical attacker.
Close Combat does not have this problem. Close Combat is just as strong as Superpower, but lowers your Defense and Sp. Def, instead, meaning the myriad of frail attackers that get it don't give a shit because they only care about doing damage and or were likely going to switch out afterward anyway. Even bulkier Pokemon like Conkeldur prefer it, because it can be spammed without weakening your offense. Why the fuck does this move exists? At the very least, why does it have the same BP as Superpower? It should be at least 20 less.
