I just came from doing some personal shopping with gift money and there are hundreds of unsold copies of each title around here with a nice layer of dust on them. If the game is selling, it's not around here. There's even plenty of unsold merch and like ten sword and shield special switch lites that have sat in the same spot since they released.

Pretty much this. I actually went around my entire city, called every store I could think of because I'm looking for a copy of Shield for myself because Sword is my sister's first mainline game, they've got plenty of NEW copies, but all the used copies got sold TODAY. If Pokemon was being sold, it was being sold used.

We only have Japanese numbers, and in Japan it's already the third biggest game of the series time-alligned, due to sales refusing to slow down week after week.

Considering SM and XY all sold weaker in Japan than outside of Japan, you can presume this game is also doing gangbusters here.

You can make a lot of assumptions on numbers we don't have, but keep in mind that the UK was noted to be an outlier for Crash and Spyro remasters making the charts for months on end. Demographics aren't universal.

This, I already quit Pokemon years ago, I just wanna see how much it'll sink like Fallout 76, if Pokemon Home has GTS or trading there's also no reason to get any future games since I can just use that.

I'm not even holding out for that, at this point. They're already pulling the "don't expect too much" routine and pretending they never promised more features to compensate for mainline becoming even more semi-incompatible with previous generations. I'm not even going to hold my breath, I'm done lowering my expectations for that crooked-toothed fuck.

Not really. I just grew out of it, It's totally fine that the new games cater towards kids, just not for me, even the dexcut isn't that big of a deal, the games look fucking awful though

I’m torn. On one hand that does sound very entertaining, but on the other hand I’m an optimist and hope that one day the games will stop being shit. It’s not happening any time soon though, so I guess I can partake in the schadenfreude of the games being ass until then.

you still have people unironically defending SWSH's soundtrack when it's part Crazybus, part Buying Goods at Palmira, part "we learnt of a new genre today please be impressed" and then some Pokemon music.
