>Including all the Pokemon every time isn't sustainable! The Dex cut was inevitable from the start!
Okay so, I have just one question then and I'd appreciate an honest real answer. For the sake of this, I will leave aside the fact that these games appear to be quite unfinished and lacking in quality as well as the fact that Masuda has said on record that a Dex cut could never be an option.
Pokemon is the highest grossing franchise in the world. Given this, the budget for these games should be (functionally) limitless. Yes I understand that a profit must be made, and a good one at that, but surely they can cough up enough to increase the team size and give us the expected quality without removal of features and existing Pokemon? There's no way this would take a significant enough cut of the profit away given how much these games gross and how much an exceptional one would gross. Why don't they just do that? If you cannot answer this with a reasonable explanation, then the only remaining answer is that they want to force us all into Home subscriptions and hold our Pokemon hostage in between games for a blatant cash grab. They know the IP will sell ANYTHING that has the "Pokemon" brand name on it so they don't see any investment as worth it and are content to churn out half-baked product with barebones features. Am I wrong?
