What features would your idea of a perfect Pokemon game have? What would the region be based on, or be like? What kind of Pokemon would it have? What would the generation's gimmick be?

A relatively unmodern region. There's lots of ruins, infrastructure is poor in-between towns. People get by with their pokemon, though. I'd like to see a focus on a natural world again, not just including the obligatory snow/desert/volcano areas.
A return to natural, animal-based pokemon. Some objectmon appear in metropolitan areas. There's a few split-evos and unique encounters, like Rotom. Additionally, regional forms of fossils from other regions exist as rare wild encounters here.
DexNav+, a developed version of ORAS' that lets you hunt seen pokemon with specififc moves and abilities. Also, HMs are back, seperate from the standard movesets.

Okay, because I can be as unrealistic I want. Tell me what you guys think pls:

Graphics/Map
>PS4/PC Tier graphics
>Detailed backgrounds (a mix of Witcher/Ni No Kuni/Dragonquest), with the anime-like human characters and Pokemon (it looks great in ilustrations and movies/shows, it will look great in a game)
>Beutiful open world, full of dungeons, HIDDEN dungeons, forests, ruins and places to explore. I want to be able to go behind a waterfall and see unique caves and Pokemon there
>Original Map not based on any specific country, great range of biomes and weather - day/night cycle and seasonal change
>Small villages have at least 10 houses that you can enter, the desginated "Big City" will have the size of 3 routes, and have it´s own dungeons and wild Pokemon.

>Difficult Levels
Little jimmy can play an easy game and veterans can have challenge, in a hard mode you can:
>Improved AI, turned off Exp.Share, number of items you can use in combat, ban healing outside of battlr on Elite 4/gyms, make items more expensive, maybe even make Pokemon Center cost money
>When facing a Gym Leader, you can only select 3 Pokemon against his 3: Gym Leaders Pokemon will have the same level as your strongest selected Pokemon - his ace will always be 5 levels above your strongest.

I wouldn't start with skill points, but more of a proficiency that you increase by the amount of time you spend doing an activity or the pokedex progression

Could also be gyms, like a gym that focusses on berry's, another on healing moves, another on sweepers

Should replace the gyms and add unpredictability in rematches

Sounds way too cool to be ever fully made into a game in a one/two year development cicle.

Dont agree with everything on your list.
Eg. 2D/3D would probably be hard to implement as well as slowing down development but all in all great ideas!

Oh thanks! Yeh those are things that I would love to see in a Pokemon game.

I know it wouldn't be able to be done in 1/2 years, I'm just working with the premise of full control of the release date. Perhaps I will try to implement part of that on a /tg/ game

Dragon Quest XI did it and looked okay, it's doable if the devs have more time to prepare things.

The elite four should be based on battle techniques like weather and such without a focus on type so it would be more difficult.
