I started playing Pokemon Sword game today with my 6 year old niece and she loves it. I've played other Pokemon games with her and she likes this one far more than the others. It's strange but somehow it feels like this kids game was made for kids or something.

According to Game Freak, the longtime fans wanted an easier game without most of the Pokémon they grew up with, without a Battle Frontier, and with plenty of handholding. To be honest, I think that they believed their """""'balancing""""""" of the competitive scene with the dex cut was supposed to please the longtime fans who are supposedly all just competitive dudes. I believe GF is legitimately that clueless.

Sure. But if Ishi didn't even get an idea about this game being marketed toward longtime fans from GF, or think up the idea with them, then there's some serious miscommunication and poor cooperation going on in the Pokémon company. I personally think the whole group came up with that one. Makes more sense than Ishi just spouting nonsense without discussing it with the rest.
