Pokemon is owned by 4 different companies. So they will have to convince Gamefreak, Creatures, Pokemon and Nintendo to surrender the rights. And that's not happening. But even if they did, knowing Disney they would want the merchandise and want to make a movie to push merchandise. In that case they would have to buy the rights from Warner Bros. arguably their biggest competitor, amd that's not happening either.

Not necessarily. Disney only owns the rights to broadcast the anime in North America. Rights they had to buy from WB through syndication. WB still owns the rights to broadcast it almost everywhere else. WB can still air anything pre Sun and Moon arch, and if they really wanted to they can pull a majority of the anime from Disney.

Think of it like Spider-Man in the MCU.

Exactly. When I think of some of the video games Disney has put out, whether original or remasters, they tend to be vastly better then what the main series pokémon games have become. Also, knowing Disney, they'd be a hell of a lot more likely to give us spin offs. Some of which we've begging for for years. I have more faith in Disney than GF. Yes Disney makes some blunders but it has a lot on its plate. GF only has to make one game every few years with billions of dollars at their disposal and yet they still manage to fail time and time again to even hold a candle to how beloved Disney still is. Disney is a household name. Pokémon is a "Oh. You still play that? I heard its crap." name. You're probably thinking, "They didn't fail. They made bank." True but remember, money is temporary but quality is timeless. Snow White is still remembered fondly 81 years later. SS will be lucky if it's remembered at all in 10 years or maybe even less.

Pokemon is split between many companies, one of which being FUCKING NINTENDO, and it's the most profitable franchise in existence. Disney knows fuck-all about making games, the primary vehicle to introduce more Pokemon. They'd kill it in less than 10 years.

You're right about Disney when it comes to games. For example, their handling with the Star Wars games is abyssal. But for Disney, I think even they wouldn't be retarded enough to fuck up Pokemon. I mean, how could they? All they need to do is tell Gamefreak to keep doing what they've been doing and everything will be alright. Pokemon fans will still eat it up. Oh and hey, they might even get to have some MCU crossover in the games and some Marvel inspired Pokemon with any worries about copyright bullshit, neat.

Epic Mickey was more missed potential than literally every Pokemon Game combined.
But besides that, Disney is also now mostly beloved for the same exact shitty reason Pokemon is, the nostalgia. It has critics and fans close their eyes and eat their shit when possibly faced with the reality that they aren't putting out great products anymore (SwSh for Pokemon, Aladdin Remake, Beauty and the Beast Remake, Lion King Remake, Cars and Toys 4 (yes Pixar counts), Incredibles 2, I could go fucking on).
Also nearly all of the games they've made have flopped hard in the end, the glaring exception being Kingdom Hearts, which was a joint project with much more going for it than Disney appeal.

Because they know it's for kids just as much as Game Freak but wouldn't "get" Pokémon - just like many fanartists don't "get" Pokémon. They'd run it into the ground with actual nu-pokémon slapped through the Disney-brand filter, likely re-doing the existing ones at the same time, then dumb down the game mechanics severely (no matter how bad Game Freak are, they're not as bad as an entity whose been milking money off children for decades longer than they).

You make some fair points. I never argued about Pixar being not being Disney dude. I agree with you on that. I will stick to my guns however in saying that with the main series the way it is now. Arguably since Gen 5 onwards. I think Disney (or a few other choice companies I'm not going to name) would do a better job with the D/P remakes or/and Gen 9. The people behind the main series games, to me anyway, don't seem to care like they use to. It's become stale and needs people who want to make a solid product instead of 'just another game'.

I get what you're saying too, but I absolutely can't see Disney doing any better. They've killed off all of their local game branches, that they trust their IPs to companies like fucking EA, which has a spottier track record than skidmarked underwear. Even if I can't see Disney doing any worse than right now, if the series needs new blood, there are multitude of even other companies, even other ones focused on general media, I can see doing better.

Disney tried pokemon.
The digging fossils was pretty fun actually, maybe if they took some of the other games and combined them. Make a mish mash of lesser games. They could throw something together.
Make a more fantasy version of fossil fighters.

The only problem is. Disney games don't really have a reputation for consistency.
