Most of them look like western cartoons thanks to Turner being in charge and either not being willing or able to put his foot down unlike Sugimori and Ohmura before him and that's one of them. I'd have to look through them again since I haven't played the shitty things but the only other ones I can think of off the top of my head is the Corviknight line.
A couple off the top of my head that were close are Dreadnaw and Obstagoon (as much as I hate the fact it's a regional evolution rather than just a normal cross gen evo).

If I was leaving my opinion I'd have stated as much. My opinion is that it's pretty cute and evolves into something kind of cool and I probably would've used it despite thinking it possibly could've been done better. But that's got nothing to do with the art style.
I don't know what to say to you if you can't tell the majority of Gen 8 is a stylistic break from everything beforehand but Wooloo isn't one of them. Except maybe to play more Pokémon (ideally not Gen 8) and read more of the articles with Sugimori to try to understand the difference.
