Most likely January will tell us they sold 11 million or so by default. Though I'm honestly not sure if I believe it considering all of the charts saying otherwise.
We know the Switch digital sales are like 1 in 3 and yet... How the fuck are digital sales for Sword and Shield anything when shit like Minecraft Bedrock on the Switch beat them digitally in 2019? Not even just Shield which appears to be selling like garbage, but BOTH.
People keep arguing about having the whole year but it just doesn't fucking matter when you're talking about a game that has only sold 1.1 million digitally since launch in Japan well over a year ago.
They're NOT selling that many digital copies of Minecraft a month (and maybe even less because the sales figures I could find apparently lump ALL Bedrock from consoles together straight from Microsoft, not sure where Famitsu is supposedly getting a NSW specific number or if they aren't and are just fucking it up).
Minecraft should NOT be beating them even in anyone's imagination if they're really somewhere around 2.5M now.
Either digital sales are something like 10% or less for Sword and Shield for some reason or the numbers or off for some reason. And especially since it's Japan and how many people are going digital on Switch in general even when they didn't before because of the portability (they just want to take the system and not a bunch of game cards which is stupid but understandable from an ease of use perspective) I can't imagine how the former is the case.
