When the controversy came up with #Gamefreaklied that silent minority bat an eye but #Fuckgamefreak drove those same people away because it was like watching someone throw a tantrum. The average person will avoid that. The other part was just memes. Which again the average person will avoid. Making all potential traction from the justified part of the controversy be lost as fast it was gained.
This is why gamefreak can and will continue to get away with amputating the franchise. Since that 1% is just full on retarded.
I don't make gamefreaks case for them. I point it out because that 1% is what's holding the franchise back because they have no counter argument for what they have allowed to be normalized just seethes and memes. Since that approach hasn't many any impact from previous gens.
