Saw this post here yesterday about an italian region and wanted to make something similar.
If you could make a Pokémon region based on the iberian peninsula, what new Pokémon, characters and story details would you create for it?

I am Portuguese and I came up with some concepts for Iberian based Pokémon:

>regional bird is normal/flying housemartin that becomes ground/flying as it evolves, emphasis on the clay and nest-building aspects of housemartins

>sound-based mon inspired on the Stone Tape phenomenon, two evolutions based on menhirs and dolmens (both very common on the peninsula) with small aspects from radios and sound columns, rock/ghost tying with the Stone Tape phenomenon and the fact that mehirs and dolmens are thought to be ancient tombstones

The region will be divided into different subregions with different stile of buildings and climate.
The region will be very mountainous with a lot of caves and mounatins to explore.
Maybe 16 gyms and 2 leagues (representing Spain and Portugal).
Macaronesian region as postgame.
