I honestly doubt it. Both Gen 6 and Gen 8 had the issue of having drastic transitions (in Gen 6 from 2D to 3D and in Gen 8 from handheld devices to home consoles) and suffering from a rushed production, and Gen 7 was considerably better than Gen 6.
I have reasons to believe Gen 9 will be slightly better, if not by the tiniest bit.
