Nah, its a downgrade from the Galarian counterpart.

Snowmanitan has a better offensive typing and better coverage. He has all of the same moves as regular Darmanitan but with more coverage and better STAB.

+1 is Gorilla Tactics. The only wall that should set them apart can't switch in safely either against normal Darmanitan.
It's still a Free Choice Band that can stack, Darmanitan would get the ban too.

Whats the difference? A slight damage increase at the cost of being able to switch moves?

Strong Ice type with Fire coverage > Just a strong Fire type

Maybe? The only disadvantage I can think is Gastrodon and Gyarados having an easier time with it. What's so great about Ice type?

Yeah. It would still be completely impossible to switch into band (even more so, because flare blitz hits way harder than icicle crash) and that alone is enough for a ban. The scarf set would have way higher damage output too because of the higher BP STAB.
