here's the funny part
the actual resolution of the trunk texture is decent for a switch game
but the reason it's so ugly is because it's a badly upscaled version of a smaller resolution texture
if they had a better texture at the same resolution it would look much better for the same exact performance

just a reminder that this tree is the same tree used in Canada Hunt, a Nintendo Wii animal hunting video game, and gamefreak did not have permission to use Virtual Play Games assets.

This tree has over half as many tris as the entirety of OoT's Hyrule Field.

They probably intended to have entire forests of these trees in the Wild Area.
