>>42173601I think the basic idea is that cut-throat reposters eliminate or skip out on convenient ways of finding the original artist so visitors are much more likely to just follow the reposter instead.
It's not waterproof logic by any means - personally I find most artists via booru tags or image reverse search - but it makes some sense to me.
