lemme actually explain how this happened
1. competent OU players have complained about stall for years, because it does suck when someone drops their optimized stall RMT and suddenly every chucklefuck on the ladder is using it for free forfeits
2. swsh are the mainline pokemon games on nintendo's most successful console since the wii (or if you want to be autistic about lgpe, the first mainline games with a competitive metagame), so a lot of people are getting back into pokemon generally and comp specifically, due to how easy it is to build in game now
3. real stall is dead and has been dead since gen 7 but bulky offense and balance are MUCH better than they were in gen 7, so people who got mediocre at OU last gen are now seeing really bulky teams for the first time
4. nobody can kill toxapex with their bromon
so what ends up happening is all these somewhat new players or returning players who don't really know what stall is and aren't really that good at the game to begin with play some bulky offense or balance team that takes longer than usual to beat, or they see a replay of a >100 turn game, and they don't like this at all - which I think is reasonable by the way, I prefer a faster meta too - and the vocabulary they have to criticize the meta is "stall" because that's what decent, respected players have complained about for a very long time, and the terminology has been transmitted down to the community at large
>>42165646>>42165607for the record this bitching about stall hasn't just been on /vp/, a lot of dunning kruger pokemon players across various sites have been parroting the same shit
