Looks like a decade of staganation. Inferior game to Gen 4, followed by remake that failed to turn it around, followed by 3 gens of "the same game, but with varying degrees of failing at 3D development".

Only spinoff I played was conquest which I enjoyed. Not sure if this is just me getting older but alot of thr 3d era games felt rushed and needed a extra couple of months in development

Sun and Moon are the best of this decade.

BW/BW2 are the only ones approaching it, but let’s be clear. Story sucks more than the SM one, games sucks, linear region, more linear than Kalos or Alola, Kanto inspiration reboot, BW2 is full of mandatory tutorials for the optionals features in main game and the only good thing about them is postgame content... etc

Garbage decade that not only began but also saw the unfolding of the end. The way I see it, Pokemon's spirit died the moment the mainline regions were moved away from Japan - EVERYTHING afterwards felt like fangames, if some of them actually good. The 3D era is a fucking disaster and we all know it well.

I hate to say that everything after 2012 has been garbage because it makes me sound like a nostalgiafag, but I haven't enjoyed a single Pokemon game since 2012, except Super Mystery Dungeon that was okay imo.
Maybe I have grown up, but I can still enjoy good games for children, so I guess they're just bad...

Mainline - all shit except BW2, and MAYBE SM which was just passable

Dealt a blow in 2013 but they could have improved, the disease spread with ORAS being the first remakes to be worse than what they were based on, fatally wounded in 2016 with GO, LGPE the first of many ghost type games from this dead series and there will be many more
