I've jumped over them for verticallity

Is rest just a big risk/big reward counter? Or can you actually use it to damage someone?

All of the secret characters in Smash 64 borrowed assets from existing characters. Jigglypuff only got in because it was to easy make by recycling Kirby's model, moves, and animations.

Jigglypuff is so immensely based that her defensive playstyle singlehandedly makes the melee community want to commit seppuku despite being nowhere near as annoying as like, fucking anything in Smash 4 or Ult. Greninja was really fun to use in competitive Pokemon.

When you push into the opponent's character model with Puff you aren't pushed out immediately. The rest hitbox comes out in 1 or 2 frames (i dont remember) so you just have to jump into them and quickly do it before the games engine pushes you out.

Pokemon reps besides Pikachu should not be recycled.
Pichu could easily be swapped with new Pikaclone, Trainer could use new starters, etc.

the selling point of ultimate was that everyone came back, they didn't have pichu the last two games. it's also much less expensive to port over old characters and keep most of their moveset intact than to commission new models and movesets and animations for every new mon
