Many have said on this board before, and I agree, that the less than stellar performance of gen V (particularly BW2) is what led GF down the path we are on now. Lots of new mons? Didn't sell well, doesn't work. Lots of side content and unlockable features? Didn't sell well, doesn't work. I think they started with gauging the reaction to an empty XY, then ORAS, then they made gen VII to see just how little effort they could put into a gen, essentially giving us the same games twice.
The dex cut may have been the final straw, the ultimate test to see if they could literally produce a product inferior to most gamecube games, and still succeed with profit. Not only have they managed it, but furries, LGBTQ faggots and the mentally ill came out in droves supporting the cut. I don't think that we'll ever have a gen or even a single core series game as good as they were pre XY. GF will continue shitting out this normie bait garbage annually at the behest of TPCi, Nintendo or whoever, until there's no dead horse left to beat. They'll never make better games, once they produce a game so bad they barely make any money off of it, the core series dies.
