Except they aren't. The only fossils anyone ever gives a shit about are Aerodactly, Kabutops and Omastar because they're the originals (and the latter because of twitch memes) and Archeops because of its noticeably shit ability.

I prefer the abomination fossils tbqh, I just wish they got evolutions where instead of being in pain all the time they adapt and turn their weaknesses into strengths. Big missed opportunity imo, but considering USUM added new Pokémon it’s possible they’re holding back evos for these assholes until the next games.

The fossil sprite that for it even has the thagomizer on it. Of course GameFreak managed to fuck up and use it for the Fish Fossil instead, but looking at the Draco Fossil sprite makes it clear they were switched and the Fish Fossil is actually a curled around Stegosaur tail.

Pokémon with higher stats have gotten evolutions before, they could always pull a Scizor and just redistribute the total they currently have too. Not holding my breath unfortunately. Eviolite Dracovish sounds fucking devilish though.

Forgot to mention, they have dex entries too and their dex numbers are just listed as “#Foreign” so it’s not like they forgot to cut them or something, they’re compatible with Swooshie for a reason.

I think there’s a list of the compatible mons on Serebii’s Sword and Shield database. The remaining Kanto starters, the Alola starters, Mewtwo, a bunch of Unova and Alola legendaries and a handful of mythicals all exist in the game and are fully usable, they just can’t be found currently so the theory is that they’re transfer or event only, probably both.

To be fair, the Bird Fossil description says it used to roam ancient skies. If anything it could be a Microraptor. Also the Dino Fossil is literally called the Plesiosaur Fossil in Japanese, so the Mosasaur thing is nothing more than headcanon.

Is there really no canon reference to the top halves of the arctic and draco dinosaurs? The draco is easy to guess so fanart is generally similar of what it was, but I've seen arctic plesiosaurs now, sharks, and even mammals
