Think of your favorite Pokémon. Alright, got it? Good. Disregard the Pokémon, the last non Pokémon game you played, it is now mainly about Pokémon. The gameplay elements are still the same, but with a Pokémon twist. What’s your situation?

Essentially Pokémon with different mechanics, such as

Starbound has some very light pokemon elements already, and it'd be cool to see that more fleshed out to complement the content already available, although your "pokemon" in starbound would still be capable of defending you and attacking hostile npcs, not just hostile monsters

breath of the wild but with pokemon is something a lot of people hace wanted so yay i guess, true open world catch 'em all to train up the best team tobtake in the league (gannon) with, the world filled with optional quests and hidden areas for rare pokemon.

You select a gang member at the start, and they each have their own ace pokemon that they use to traverse the map and fight cops with.

summoning is expanded upon and revamped, and also becomes a non member skill. Your pokemon can do anything from help you skill to battle, and summoning probably now directly pairs with hunting. Gods are either replaced with legendary pokemon directly, or the gods have a legendary pokemon partner. Alternatively, gielinor could be a mystery dungeon-esque world, but with all the skilling, quests, and lore of runescape as it is.

Could be fun, but mostly there will be a lot of grinding

Every pokemon is its own class, and the weapons are all different moves with different effects. Ember is a shotgun blast, for instance, while Thunder Shock acts like Pikachu's neutral special in Smash, etc.

Zombie Pokemon means the apocalypse or Pokemon to fend off zombies means we probably stopped it before the spreading. Especially with steel and ghost Pokemon.

Corrupted Pokemon are attacking the world and with your team consisting of Doublade, Decidueye, Machamp, Lycanroc and Haxorus you have to travel to different areas defeating these corruptions and saving people. Sometimes these corruptions will overtake people and create weird hybrids like Nihilego+Lusamine but actually fused and you'll have to take them out together, the human being sacrificed for the greater good. Sometimes gates leading to the PC world will open, where you see that every Pokemon that was stored got corrupted and you have to fight then within that world so they don't escape and attack the real one. Meanwhile a crazy woman will try to get everyone to willingly store their Pokemon in the PC, but it's because she created an UB that can absorb them and hopes that'll extinguish the corruptions but doesn't realize her UB is miles more dangerous in the end. You think she's the biggest threat but in reality your boss realized these corrupted Pokemon x Human hybrids could make him ascend so he fuses with like a dozen of them becoming a Gygantamax monster you have to take down.
