The national dex meta is a clusterfuck of garbage so yeah having everything would suck more than what he have right now
They made more cuts than they needed to and the dexit meta is pretty fucked because of the hugely limited number of Pokémon that fill any given niche but at least for competitive it is a step in the right direction.
In future games if they include every Pokémon they should limit online play/competitive play to include only regional dex mons

Actual competitive is a lot better yeah, fake out/intimidate/protect were nerfed by the introduction of dynamax/buffs to old abilities and even 3v3 is seeing niche strats now that there's not retarded shit like Garchomp that just one shots you for daring to use a suboptimal Pokemon.

SwShs meta is worse than NatDex due to having fewer OU mons, a lack of variety, and the Dynamax issue that's still being sorted out, but its not like NatDex is some godly meta either; its pretty shit in its own right.

Maybe VGC will be improved with Dexit, but it does not in any way justify the Dex cut as the VGC is already capable of banning whatever they feel like without effecting the base game

Yeah. I’m so glad they cut them since they can give us important features in SWSH like Battle Frontier, the GTS, Difficulty options, and a cutscene skip options.
And don’t you just love how they gave us the ability to stop time, make sucker punch fail for no reason, and let you evolve a Pokemon into another Pokemon from a completely different line?
We absolutely wouldn’t get this amazing quality if they put shitmons like Salamence or Infernape.

That said, I've seen a lot more hate against natdex among competitive players than praise. And the praise boils down to "we got rid of Tapus and Lando, rejoice!".

All the ground/waters expect whiscash and swampert have seen play in pretty much every tier since Gen4 due to metagame changes. Seriously go look at the various pages for Quasgire and Gastrodon they've been all over the damn place in tiers. Sesimitoad is not a good example of "Niche mon that suddenly got people playing with it".
