For reasons to hate XY, it's because the story is bad, tie with SWSH's shit plot though the latter don't have much story to begin with. Characters are bad and gym leaders are forgettable, not even proper retmaches for these leaders. I didn't really like gen 6 Pokemon much rather. Older Pokemon took all spotlights in this gen.
