Beedrill is dope af and can actually clean house in Gen 1 with Swords Dance and Twineedle since Bug type is SE against the abundant Grass, Poison, and Psychic types. Butterfree is just a worse and less interesting Venomoth.
Design wise I prefer Pidgeot over Fearow but Pidgeot doesn't get the only good Flying type move in Gen 1, Drill Peck. That said, I'd choose Dodrio over either.
