Pretty cool idea, old school “fairies” and guardians who play pranks on, help and bring a little malice to the people of the their environment. Not direct recolors, interesting lore and abilities. Also it was nice to get away from Mew-clones getting all the limelight. They were great in the anime.

I like them conceptually, and I like their lore and designs. Battle-wise, I see them as pure cancer and emblematic of why Fairy-types can never have high stat totals with intelligent distribution, even if part of the problem was their Surge abilities.

Along with Shiinotic and the Impidimp line they are the only Fairies that actually match what Fairyfags said the type would consist of back during XY prerelease.

They're neat concepts and work well as guardian deities, I like their design alots.

From what I heard, they made online battles in Gen 7 unbearable. Tell me, are you glad that Tapu got culled in Gen 8 and do you prefer less powerful pokemon to get Tapus' abilities now?

They were actually a pretty solid group of legendaries, and didn’t feel superfluous like most other secondary legendary trios because they had actual lore relating to them.

I think they look pretty fucking stupid, just like I always have.

But throughout Gen 7 I grew to enjoy using Tapu Fini because of Misty Surge/Swagger shenanigans, so I have a soft spot for that one.

Probably one of my fav legenendaries overall. Only wish we had gotten like a secret fifth one as a mythical instead of furry bait tiger that made 0 sense lore wise. Maybe a fire/fairy one.
