It's mainly for GO players to be able to transfer their Pokemon to the mainline games though.

I do a shitload of breeding and have close to 65 boxes in Bank full of breedjects and finished Pokémon.

On one hand, I could see bank being kept for a while as its closure would be the first time since gen 2 where you couldn't transfer up. On the other hand we've never had a dex cut till now and I definitely see the VC games being re-released on the switch, so who knows.

You won’t. It’ll be like Gen 2 to Gen 3 except this time they’ll give you time to upload everything for a set period of time.

Next releases will probably have the missing Pokémon in it or close to all of them.

From a financial standpoint, why does it make any sense to keep Banks online services running once we’ve been into Gen 8 for two or three years.

Literally everyone who wants to have moved their Pokémon up will have done so and people who just get into or back into the series won’t care or will just be shit outta luck.

Look for raids on the y comm. That's how I got every version exclusive besides appletun, the box legend, and the gen 6 fairy that evolves by trade (swirlix? Or the other one I can't remember). For the last three I just went to reddit. Easy peazy.

Push Y for Online Features, then go to Link Trade and click "Set Link Code" to create a 4 digit code so you match up with the person you want to link with when you start the Link Trade connection

Of course you need Nintendo Online to do this though
