The difference is that when charizard X we did not have anything like mega's aside from a few box legendaries that would change form when holding a certain item.

Nowadays this kind of thing is to be expected. Especially when they reveal that ceartain pokemon get form changes and that the champions Ace pokemon is a charizard months before they reveal charizard has a new form

The fact there even is shitty paid DLC is why I'm glad my guys will be in gen 9, which actually has a chance of being good. Well, they have a chance of being not-as-bad, maybe.

XY and Swsh are both garbage in that the champion couldn't even get a gen native Pokemon to be their ace, making them lame and forgettable.
They excuse Leon by saying he's not from Galar but that only goes so far when people are tired of charizard shilling.
Also everyone was already skeptical when Charizard XY were released because the starters debuting in THAT GEN didn't even get megas. Sound familiar?
