>>42230187Literally any other example but this would have provided a better reason for your argument, but in terms of setting Sand not only do they both function differently but Sandaconda is actually BETTER than Hippodown for Sand Teams. It's not better overall, Hippo's generally better for bulkier teams who need it to reliably force switches for a long-term match (Slack Off/Yawn, etc), but in terms of sand setting Sandaconda's incredible as a fuck you to anyone who tries to Dynamax.
This is because Sand Spit activates after everything else has taken place. While it's bugged on Showdown (to the point where Sandaconda's almost useless on the simulator since it's ability just doesn't work correctly, cutting into it's usage), on cart Sand Spit completely dicks over anyone trying to use the Max Moves to set up weather unless that weather is sand, because their attempt to do so is only going to result in their weather getting immediately replaced with even more sand. In fact, this actually works out, because not only is it reliable and cancels out other methods of weather setting (you can reset the weather to sand and win weather wars WITHOUT NEEDING TO SWITCH OUT OR USE A MOVE), but it actually makes it so that the total uptime of Sand is even longer than it normally would be. If you, say, use Hippowdown on a sand team, Sand Stream would set sand, but it could either be easily removed (forcing you to switch to get it back) or, by the time you get Excadrill in, the weather either only has a few turns left or is already gone. With Sandaconda, the sand will be there, and that Excadrill is going to come in with sand to rape your entire team. The two are practically the perfect partners!
tl:dr, don't fucking diss my snake just because you don't understand how to use it. If you want a UNGA BUNGA ME OUTCLASS EVERYTHING ELSE pokemon just look at fucking Darmanitan, or Hatt over Gardevoir.
