depends on the method, if it's from a wild encounter (full odds or knockout method), stars are rarer, if it's masuda method, squares are rarer. it's about a 1/16 chance for the rarer one to appear. honestly, why did they decide to have two sparkles?

Not sure if I have any favourite shiny that others dislike. Shiny Cinderace, maybe? I remember anons felt disappointed when they see it for first time in early novemeber.

right, totally forgot they somehow fucked up the coding for sparkles between wild and eggs (either it was always stars were rarer or squares were rarer). next thing you know shinies will be accidentally programmed to not appear at all in the next games due to a "quirk".

Of anything to get the axe, shinies are the least likely shithead. GO makes millions every CD off the release of one family (which Game Freak are well aware of). Yeah, they fucked up the code, big deal. They did it while trying to actually do something with shinies, instead of just going "lol, big star for big pokémans" like in Gen VII.

Trying out LGPE now, and I went to go catch some NidoM's, since I heard it was a lot easier to catch shinies in this game. I get to a 10 catch combo, and immediately a shiny Spearow jumps out. At least he's Jolly.

I'm unsure if it's a bug though. It could be intended for all we know, shiny pokemon are meant to be rare after all. Make sense that they still give low shiny rate for every type of wild encounters anyway to prevent you from finding two shiny version of a same species that easily.
