Because in most JRPGs, the entire party is fighting at once unlike in Pokemon. Not to mention most JRPGs also have some sort of challenge (sometime difficulty settings too) unlike SwSh.

nope. SMRPG you can have two inactive yet everyone gets exp. Digimon Cyber Shit you can have a fuckton of inactive Digimon yet they all get exp.

If SwSh didn't have the most brainless and unbalanced level curve (many levels ahead of gym leaders normally) + made Exp. Share not get in the way of EV training and etc, it would have been acceptable.
