The hole is present in cephalopods, it's their siphon. The mouth is weird, especially given the lack of beak, but there's no good place to put it. The closest equivalent to an octopus's beak would be further down, positioned in the center of its tentacles.

It's a stretch, but James Turner was the art director so he may have given suggestions on what moves to include in Perrserker's learnset based on its design late in development. He seems like the type of person who's in the loop about memes these days

It's kind of frustrating, I would have otherwise liked these little niggas but it makes me not know what to think of this design. Like either they went way farther than they should have in redesigning a new Meowth form or they retrofitted some Meowthness onto something unrelated because they didn't get the memo that there needs to be a new Meowth form until way too late.

Also why the fuck do people hate Persian so much? Seems like you can't talk about any of the regional variants without saying how much better they are than Persian and how they redeem the evolution after it committed the ultimate sin of not being Meowth but bigger

I think everyone who watched the anime considers Persian boring, especially since it isn’t particularly good (neither is Meowth tbf)
