Game Freak staff literally have no experience working at these definitions. They look a bit pants, because everyone was a bit pants at making HD games. As with everything in human life, as they make more games for consoles like Switch, they'll get better at making their games look better.

You're cherrypicking screenshots of the Wild. We know for a fact the wild was a late stage addition because gamefreak stated they only added overworld encounters after seeing how well it was received with LGPE. most likely the wild was added in only a few months, while they were still finishing up the main game. Everything outside of the Wild looks great. Some of the towns are really beautiful.
