Pokemon at its core is rock paper scissors and catching bugs.
Battling itself is fun but the capture process should be just as fun as well. Look at all the different balls and methods to catch a Pokemon. You can bruteforce it, you can buy specialty balls, you can use certain moves to make your chances better...
we all just have to figure out what makes Pokemon fun and good and build off of that.
We don't want a rock, paper scissors system that is too simple, otherwise it won't be fun. We also don't want a system that is too complex because the game isn't established and people might try to play it like Pokemon when it isn't Pokemon.
At it's core Pokemon is:

>Kaiju>Waifu>Cryptids>Real AnimalsWe also have to take a look at real Pokemon designs and see what makes them special. Why do we like them? Why do they make good plushies?
