Anybody else think that holding onto the three stage limit for Pokemon species is holding them back?
A lot of Pokemon would be fixed with an extra evolution

Or, how about just improving their stats, ability, and typing? Haxorus doesn't need an evolution. It just needs to become dragon/steel.

not really, no.
instead, Mega Evos, Dynamax and Z-moves are garbage that break the meta ceiling of the game. so you basically have another layer of bullshit on top of the base game. that hurts.
just look at yugioh and all the pendulum bullshit. awful.

also, Ash-Greninja was total cringe and disgusting. If I wanna watch Digimon, I'm gonna watch Digimon, just leave the Pkmn series out of these shit ideas for dweebs.

Pendulums themselves were not broken most of the time, ecept for a few archetypes like majespecters. They were only broken because they were used as an engine to provide resources for all the other mechanics (usually Xyz and sometimes synchro) making them too fast and allowing lost resources to be renewed at nearly no cost (destroyed pendulum monsters can be resummoned for no cost as long as the 2 pendulums are still active/the 2 pendulums are replaced)

Would rather just see one gen that does a balance overhaul

floor full evos at something reasonable like 460BST instead of the like 330 or some shit that some mons sit at. just scale everything up until the mons are more closely balanced.

Not all Pokemon need to be good competitively. It sucks to have favorites you know you can never realistically use, but from a gamplay and world-building perspective it is important to have creatures who aren't as powerful.
In the event though that Gamefreak actually tries to balance the game where all Pokemon are equally desirable I'd rather it be done via actual buffing and stat boosts as opposed to tacking on an evolution.
