In the current meta, 90~ speed is considered really fast. Giving opportunity to take the spot to a lot of Pokemon with mediocre BST.
Whereas in gen 7 meta, any offensive Pokemon with less than 110 speed was often outclassed by the likes of tapu koko/greninja-ash, megas and the countless available scarf users.
