The world is a disappointment

No.42254509 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I always liked the pokemon themselves, but I always found myself disappointed in the world and games.

>The pokemon themselves had cool designs, but majority of them were reduced to underlings, dumb animals
or toddlers who could only say their own names.

This bothered me the most about about the series, you here cool things about the pokemon, but none of it ever was shown or came to fruition.

Why not have pokemon as citizens as well? Alakazam ins

>The games always depicted a rather uninteresting stale world where pokemon barely interacted with the world despite being the central focus of the game.
That world is entirely bland, play any other rpgs or almost any game in general, the pokemon is dull, safe and boring. If the manga's world was made into a game that would be a different story.

>almost all of the humans have the personality of a wet towel
Don't deny this, you know that everyone outside of the rockets sucked character wise.

The anime had a few interesting locals and episodes, but we would never see anything like that in game

The game it self was rather easy and rudermentary, even when I was 10 with the first generation and 12 with the second I always imagined great things occurring, but those things never came to fruition.

I played plenty of other games where there were strange worlds, odd occurrences, and wished that things like this could in pokemon games. Instead we got shitty things like snap and the tgc game back in the original gen.

Between gen 2 and gen 3 I started venturing into other rpgs and realized that the worlds of the games were far more interesting, and many world changing plot points did occur as to pokemon. Even in other monster games.

I eventually gave up in gen3 hit shelves and I bought final fantasy tactics advance instead.
