>>42254959>Unga Bunga set up sweeps aren’t new strategies, and Dynamaxing prevented non-unga-bunga strategies like encore or regular offense.Dynamaxing doesn't prevent those strategies, it just shifts their execution. On top of that, I don't see how those strategies are ANY less unga bunga than sweep setup when they follow the same logic triggers.
>Do they have something that can check or counter this>Yes? Then I need to deal with it first before my strategy can take off, otherwise I run the risk of being shut down. No? Then they're likely fucked. This logic appies to literally every strat besides maybe paraflinch and paraswagger. Dynamaxing is available to nearly every pokemon in the game, can be used at any time once per battle. Dynamaxing to set up a sweep is a viable choice, as is dynamaxing to prevent a sweep, dynamaxing to prevent getting flinchlocked or encore trapped for 3 turns. If your opponent is choiced you have to account for the fact that they may opt to Dynamax to prevent you from forcing a switch. Dynamaxers can set up weather incredibly easily without having to rely on obvious weather-setters or wasting moveslots on weather moves.
Dynamaxing absolutely warps the meta, but if you ask me it's healthy for it; Regardless of which, it was basically quick-banned because fucking fanfic meta has been acting more like a cabal in recent years.
