That said neither 1 nor 2 should be very high on anyone's list for any reason other than nostalgia solely because there are so many fundamental issues with how the games play. 2 in particular is a huge pile of shit with god awful pacing and leveling that HGSS had to sloppily work around. At least gen 1 has a mostly fine base.
