Japan is xenophobic as fuck, arguably more so towards other Asians than non-Asians. For just one example it’s a not unheard of practice to hire a private investigator to confirm that a child’s fiancé does not secretly have Chinese ancestry.
A lot of the Asian countries still somewhat hate/resent Japan because of the country’s genocidal killings of millions of civilians during WW2.
And as for China, they literally have locked most of the Uyghurs up in work/re-education camps, and being Falun gong is enough to get you arrested and held to be executed for organ harvesting. (That’s not an exaggeration, look it up, they’ve done it to thousands) (There’s some evidence they’re probably doing some of that to the Uyghurs as well)
Bigotry and hate are nearly universal to any sufficiently large portion of humanity, some of them are just less familiar to you than others.
