Clear smog is alright on a balance team, but it's not the best because bulk up Corviknight is one of the most threatening setup Pokemon vs balance and it's immune to it.
Memento is good on a hyper offense team but bad on a balance team, because a balance team has a defensive core of 3-4 and killing your wall is essentially letting the opponent break your defensive core.
Recover is excellent though, I'll give you that.
Gastrodon is ok really, but Seismitoad has so much more role compression because Stealth Rock and Toxic are so much more immediately useful. If you use Gastrodon you need something else that can set rocks, which is something you usually want your defensive ground type to have, so it's a bit hard to fit on a team. It's also completely useless vs opposing walls. Seismitoad can toxic other walls and they're completely fucked, while gastrodon can only burn them and most walls would rather be burned 9 times outta 10.
